Schools are always looking for ways to include families.
To improve skills in writing, schools have found success with several activities.
- Essay contests for students about how to involve dads and other father figures in school
- “Young Author’s Night” in which students shared stories about their families, students’ surveys and reports of family members regarding stereotypes
- “Family Traditions Night” featuring student writings
These types of events provide opportunities for students to hone their writing skills, and for parents and guardians to be involved at the school.
